President of India Pranab Mukherjee said that South Indian Cinema played an important role in the development of Indian Cinema. He praised the contribution of NTR,MGR, Raj Kumar, Shivaji Ganesan, Nagi Reddy and LV Prasad.
Centennial celebrations of Indian Cinema has come to an end on September 24. President Mukherjee graced the event as a chief guest of closing ceremony and spoke proud about giants of South Indian Cinema. Tamil Nadu government and South Indian Film Chamber jointly hosted the event. President Mukerjee said that makers should not fail to balance entertainment and social responsibility in films.
Later President presented the awards to K.Vishwanath, K.Balachander, Bapu, Raghavendra Rao, Sridevi and others.
